View of cottage along Main Street
Welcome to Crabapple Cottage, a terraced hideaway nestled in the village of Bladnoch in the picturesque Wigtown Peninsula.

This recently renovated cottage sleeps up to four people. There is a comfortable sitting room, with a wood burning stove and views across a field to the river Bladnoch. There is also a separate, well equipped kitchen and a garden.

This southern coast of Scotland provides fantastic access to sandy beaches, coastal and forest walks, gardens, castles, monuments, bird w
atching and Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve. For the more athletic there are golf courses, salmon and trout fishing  and the Machars cycle route.

Crabapple Cottage is within a 3-minute walk of the local pub, which has a restaurant and an outside seating area along the river. Bladnoch Whiskey Distillery, which dates back to 1817 is the most southerly distillery in Scotland, is just across the road and there us a second hand book shop tucked away on Main Street. A further 13 bookshops can be found in neighbouring Wigtown which is well established as Scotland's National Book Town.   Here there are also arts and crafts shops showcasing local artist's work, tea shops and cafes, a local grocers, post office, bank and bowling green with a park area where you can sit and relax. This vibrant town has many local music and book festivals throughout the year.

Further afield, there are other attractions such as a Gemrock Museum and the Cream O' Galloway ice cream dairy with its indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds and nature walks. Kids love it!

In fact whether you are single, a couple or bringing the whole family, this corner of Scotland can provide something for everyone.
